Climate change impact on food security | Sofia Yialama | TEDxEuropeanSustainabilityAcademy

This talk was shown live at TEDxEuropeanSustainability Crete, online event, 17.10.2020
Theme: ‘Making sense of climate change on Crete: Taking Action’
Sofia Yialama| Climate change is the current mainstream risk for our people, businesses and prosperity. Climate change threatens our food security and according to the current estimates, the world is not on track to achieve sustainable development, and in particular, zero hunger throughout the next ten years.

We need to take serious measures through investments, knowledge transfer and capacity-building programmes across stakeholders to ensure agricultural and food sustainability.

But most of all, each and every one of us needs to understand that we all have a part to play towards tackling global warming. By adopting simple but more sustainable ways, such as in our daily food production and consumption, we can reduce our environmental footprint and contribute to climate action.
