— Что случится с нашей планетой в ближайшие 200 лет? Самый известный со времен Альберта Эйнштейна ученый Стивен Хокинг, который сделал много вдохновляющих открытий, предсказал невероятно темное и пессимистичное будущее для Земли и ее обитателей. Представляем вам несколько самых ужасающих предсказаний Хокинга о том, когда и как наш мир встретит свою гибель.
С тех пор, как для лечения некоторых человеческих заболеваний ученые начали использовать генетически модифицированные вирусы, для них обнаружились и другие возможные варианты применения. В наши дни фармацевты даже объединяют несколько смертельных вирусов в один, а также смешивают ДНК.
Хокинг был твердым сторонником внеземной жизни, и он был уверен, что однажды пришельцы вторгнутся на нашу планету. И нет, к сожалению, скорее всего, они придут не с миром. В своей последней работе «Плавный выход из вечной инфляции», законченной всего за две недели до его смерти, Хокинг предсказал, что наша вселенная в конечном итоге растворится в темноте, поскольку у звезд закончится энергия.
Хотя жизнь Хокинга, по сути, зависела от искусственного интеллекта, он совершенно ему не доверял. Однажды он сказал, что это «худшее изобретение в истории нашей цивилизации», поскольку, скорее всего, оно полностью заменит людей.

У каждого организма существуют конкретные приспособления для существования в своей среде. Dr Cole who is a Postdoctoral Scholar, Autism and Developmental Disorders Researcher at Stanford University presents new treatments that have the potential to treat psychiatric conditions quickly and without side-effects. Most treatments for psychiatric conditions affect the whole brain (e.g. medications). These treatments don’t work very well and have side-effects. The new treatments Dr Cole presents, only treat the areas of the brain that are functioning differently in someone with a psychiatric condition. These new treatments have the potential to be better and act quicker than existing treatments.
Dr. Eleanor Cole is a postdoctoral scholar at Stanford University and Director of the rTMS lab at the Wu Tsai Neuroscience Institute in California, USA. Dr. Cole completed her PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience and Neuroimaging at The University of York in the UK. Her research is focused on developing and optimizing novel transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) treatments for psychiatric conditions including depression. Alongside her research, Dr. Cole has run an award-winning campaign supporting the mental health of students, run peer support groups for adults with ASD and currently volunteers as a counsellor for a crisis helpline. These are apt quotes to describe the performance of one of Australias most prominent and respected beatboxers and serial pests. Only in his mid-twenties Tom Thum has achieved and experienced more than most artists could hope to achieve in a lifetime. From winning the team battles (alongside Joel Turner) in the World Beatbox Championships in 2005, to fulfilling every artists dream and performing on Broadway in New York with the Tom Tom Crew, Tom has seen his fair share of accolades and well and truly paid his dues. Raised by the small but accommodating Brisbane hip hop scene, Tom started out as a graffiti writer and a Bboy but slowly rose to recognition through his ability to produce unhuman sounds and his natural knack for performing and weaselling his way on stage…
Although the stage seems the ideal habitat for Tom he is also no stranger to community and has been helping the scene improve through conducting a plethora of workshops in many places that usually wouldnt have access to such knowledge and skill. Tom has travelled from the very top of Australia teaching in the Indigenous communities of Mornington and Thursday Islands all the way to the very bottom with a series of workshops in Tasmania and Adelaide.
He has also spent considerable time teaching on Palm Island and in Charleville and many other places that would otherwise be Starved for education about proper hip hop and the positive message that music preaches.
As Toms experience within the music industry expands, he plans to push the limits of the human voice as far as inhumanly possible. Enrolling the help of numerous loop stations, Tom has been conducting DJ sets using only his voice and nothing else, propelling crowds across the country into a frenzy of jaw-dropping disbelief, as he re-creates and remixes classic joints and jams from all eras and genres. At present Tom is working on an album ranging across many different generes and features and hopes to have it finished by early 2012. You might see him on a stage at a festival looping up a storm or supporting anyone from the Hilltop Hoods to Blue King Brown, or you might catch him annoying the hell out of commuters on public transport. Mavka — a soul of the Forest, she is nature herself, she is complex, mysterious and two-folded: tender and caring when in love, but fierce and defensive when hurt. Nevertheless, her main feature is that she always strives for peace and harmony. This is the story about the magical power of love.
Since time immemorial, the vast Ukrainian forests have harbored countless secrets and unfathomable mysteries. They are home to wondrous mythical creatures dwelling among ancient trees, faithfully guarding their sacred realm. Mavka is a soul of the Forest. Her primary mission is to protect the Forest and its sacrosanct Heart – the source of life itself – against any aggression or intrusion, including on the part of humans. Lukash is an unassuming farm boy, who has a great love of music and pours his talent into playing the flute. It is largely thanks to Lukash’s music that a miracle takes place: Mavka and Lukash meet and fall in love. From the start, their union is pitted against formidable odds, but the obstacles loom even larger once the avaricious Evilyn arrives on the scene and sets about building a sawmill at the edge of the Forest. This serves as a façade to mask her true purpose: to get a hold of the Heart of the Forest – the key to which is Mavka herself, who is already rendered vulnerable by her blossoming feelings for Lukash. To get to Mavka, Evilyn wields Lukash as her weapon, and strikes anger and fear into the hearts of the villagers. Will Mavka and Lukash be able to defend their feelings for each other? “Mavka. The Forest Song” is a full-length animated feature produced by Ukraine-based Animagrad (FILM.UA Group). It is currently at the stage of development. The film is inspired by a classical Ukrainian poem play by Lesya Ukrainka, as well as Ukrainian authentic mythology and legends. Mavka, the Forest princess — powerful female character with unique appearance and universal appeal, and has potential to be ranked with internationally celebrated personages. The heroes and themes elaborated in the story will appeal to adults and children worldwide, but its distinct Slavic spirit and authentic charm will set it apart from anything else in the genre.
